First Superbowl

So it has been a very good start to the year! Overall, I was happy with the way I played in Doha and in Australia. It was a good way to start the year, and it something I am definitely excited to build on... I am looking forward to continuing things in San Jose next week.

I went to my first Super Bowl last weekend!!! It was so much fun! Brooklyn was down there working, so I decided to tag along. I stayed with Mardy, and played some golf.... I would have much rather been playing the final in Melbourne, but this was a great way to spend a weekend

As people here might know i am huge fan of the office, and I got to meet Rainn Wilson who plays Dwight and that was really cool... he had been watching the Aussie Open so that was really cool..... I was hanging in a room with him and Jimmy Fallon for about an hour... probably one of the funniest hours of my life ha ha ha... the atmosphere was great, and it was awesome to just go check the game out as a fan.

Pretty pumped cause the Killers are playing here in Austin tonight, and I am trying to figure out how to get tickets right now. They are one of my favorites so hopefully I can figure it out.

Getting back on the court tomorrow... Somdev Devvarman is here for the week so we should be able to get some good work in before next week... also excited to get back on the track a couple times before next week.

Heading to Doug's wedding this weekend! Super pumped for him and his fiance and it should be a really good time!

Anyways, that's about it for now but i will write again soon!!

Howdy all...

Out here in beautiful La Quinta just getting ready to start in Indian Wells… we always really enjoy this week cause we stay literally 50 yards from a practice court in a 3 bedroom villa that has a kitchen so we can cook meals and kind of feel like we are home… it’s definitely better than a normal hotel room…I will try to post some pics in the next couple of days.

A bunch of great stuff has happened on the court since my last blog…. I played really well in Memphis, and it’s great to get a win at a 500 at the beginning of the year. I had only won Memphis one time back in 2002 so it was nice to have some success there again after 7 years… also, was really pumped to get back out there in Davis Cup competition. our team really pulled together well and I was really have the opportunity to close out another tie. It’s been a very strong start to the year and I feel like there has been some serious improvement. that being said there is still a lot of work left to be done.

I love this time of the year for college basketball…. it’s right in the thick of the conference tournies and I cant wait for march madness to begin and fill out my bracket…I never win but its still fun ha ha….I am normally the guy who loses to the person who picks their teams based on which team has prettier uniforms

– I backed one of the Porsche courtesy cars straight into a mini van in the San Jose parking lot….. my bad
– I caught myself trying to turn on a tv in Memphis. it didn’t work and I looked down to see the car keys in my hand……. go figure.
– Larry cruised out from his room and down an elevator to the lobby of the hotel in Memphis to grab a paper and a coffee.. all well and good, except he had his tennis bag over his shoulder…..I guess old habits die hard.
– After the official Davis Cup dinner last week (where they never serve enough food) we all went to a Waffle House off of I-20 in Birmingham… always a good idea, and this time it turned out to be even better. We had a very personable waitress, about 70 years old whose name-tag said “old goat.” That’s good enough by itself except she spent the whole meal singing “tequila makes my clothes fall off”, and rapping the song “apple bottom jeans” for us… only on a night out with the team at Davis Cup… Mike Bryan has video so hopefully that will leak somewhere sometime…
– Made a trip to the set of The Office which is my favorite tv show…. I met Rainn Wilson (Dwight) at the Super Bowl and he said to give him a call if i was ever out in LA and wanted to stop by!! I shot a commercial out that way the day after Memphis and stayed an extra day to head out there with Brooklyn and my buddy Graham…. it was hilarious, and we took some pics so hopefully we can get those up soon that’s about it from here….. hope you all are well and talk soon.
